A Journal of Biodiversity (since 1910)
Available at BioOne (www.bioone.org/) and AJOL (www.ajol.info/)
PUBLISHING POLICY
The Journal of East African Natural History is published jointly by the East Africa Natural History Society and the National Museums of Kenya. The Journal publishes papers and notes in the field of natural history, broadly defined as the study of organisms in their natural state, relevant to the eastern African region. Of particular interest are contributions that add to our knowledge of the status and conservation of biological diversity in the region. Since the biological landscape is to a large extent shaped by man, papers on ethnobiology will also be considered. Contributions can be substantial articles, short notes and book reviews. Once the paper has been selected by the Editors for possible publication in the Journal, the manuscript will be externally refereed by two persons who are acknowledged specialists in that field, before a decision is made of acceptance.
Papers will be considered on the understanding that they are being offered exclusively to the Journal and have not been submitted at the same time for publication elsewhere. Copyright is retained jointly by the East Africa Natural History Society and the National Museums of Kenya; reference to contributions in the Journal may be made, but no part of the text, diagram, figure, table or plate may be reproduced without permission from the Editors. Such permission will only be granted with the approval of the author.
Manuscripts should be submitted as a Word document in an email attachment, to the Editor-in-Chief, Journal of East African Natural History at office@naturekenya.org with cc to all co-authors. The manuscript should be accompanied by a covering letter from the author, or in the case of multiple authors, from the author responsible for decisions regarding the text. In the case of multiple authors, a statement should be included that all authors have seen the final manuscript and agree to its submission.
Contributors are encouraged to study the most recent version of the Instructions to Authors which can be found on www.bioone.org Papers that do not conform to the above guidelines will be returned to the author for correction before review.
