Nairobi birdwalks
20th July. Sunday Bird Watch – Kakuzi. Meet at the Kakuzi Main Entrance, at 8:30am. Directions: Drive along Thika Road past Kenol, turn left opposite Kakuzi Butchery / Kakuzi Timber Shop. Alternatively, take Muranga PSVs at Nyama Kima, Nairobi and alight at Kenol. From Kenol, take Makuyu PSVs and alight opposite Kakuzi Butchery / Kakuzi Timber Shop. Walk from there on the same side that you have alighted from Nairobi towards the main office.
This is a day trip; bring packed lunch and water.
Wednesday Morning Birdwalks in Nairobi:
2nd July – Museum Grounds / Michuki Memorial Park. Meet at 8 am in the open space in front of the entrance to the museum galleries.
9th July – Manguo Pond. Meet at 8.30am at Manguo Pond. Directions: Coming from the city center, take Waiyaki Way onto Nairobi - Naivasha highway. Alternatively, take Limuru PSVs plying Waiyaki Way at Khoja stage and alight at the flyover to Limuru.Manguo pond is on the right just past the flyover to Limuru.
16th July –– Ngong Road Forest Sanctuary (Miotoni Block, Section 1). Meet at 8:30am at the Southern Bypass Gate. (There’s an entrance fee of Ksh.116 for citizens, payable via eCitizen on site). Directions: Coming from the City Centre, take Ngong Road towards Southern Bypass. Turn towards Kikuyu. The Forest gate is on the Karen side, immediately after the turn off.
23rd July – Nairobi Safari Walk. Meet at 8.30 am at the Nairobi Safari Walk main entrance, KWS headquarters, along Lang’ata Road. There is an entry fee of Ksh. 215 per person for citizens and residents paid via eCitizen.
30th July – Paradise Lost. Meet at Paradise Lost Main Gate at 8:30 am. Directions: Take Kiambu Road. Turn Left at Paradise Lost junction in Thindigua after Runda Greens before Quick Mart Supermarket. Turn right at Kencom Apartments just after Kasarini Primary School. It’s about 500m to the main gate. Alternatively, take Kiambu PSVs at Ronald Ngala Street Post Office stage and alight at Paradise Lost Junction in Thindigua. Take a boda boda to Paradise Lost Main Gate.Thanks to the management for welcoming the birdwalk.

Malindi Bird Walks
Saturday Bird Watch
26th July. Saturday Birdwatch – Mida Creek. Meet at 6:30 am at Mida Creek on the Mida Stage/Msikitini side along Mombasa-Malindi highway. This will be the International Mangrove Day, we will have a Mangrove walk afterwards to commemorate it. Thanks to Mida Creek Conservation Group for welcoming the bird walk.

3rd July – Mayungu. Meet at 4:00 pm at the Malindi Museum near Nature Kenya Membership Office.
10th July – Ganda. Meet at 3:00 pm at Malindi Museum near the Nature Kenya Membership Office.
17th July – The Hanging Gardens of Malindi. Meet at 7:00 am at Malindi Museum near the Nature Kenya Membership Office.
24th July – Mtangani. Meet at 4:00 pm at Malindi Museum near the Nature Kenya Membership Office.
31st July – Mtondia Meet at 3:00 pm at Mtondia Highway towards Kilifi. The school is along the highway after Tezo.
