Nairobi birdwalks

15^thJune.Sunday Bird Watch–Masinga Dam. Meet at Masinga Dam Resort gate, at 8:30am. Directions: Drive along Garissa Road past Matuu, turn left at Kanyonyo onto Embu Kangonde Road. Drive for 20kms and turn left at Kaewa.The resort is 12kms from Kaewa.

Alternatively, board Neno Sacco PSVs at Tea Room stage, alight at Kaewa and take a boda boda to the resort. Thanks to Tana and Athi Rivers Development Authority (TARDA)management for welcoming the birdwatch.

This is a day trip; bring packed lunch and water.

 Wednesday Morning Birdwalksin Nairobi:

4^thJune–Museum Grounds / Michuki Memorial Park.Meet at 8 am in the open space in front of the entrance to the museum galleries.

 11^thJune–Kiambethu Farm. Meet at the Kiambethu Farm Main Gate, at 8:30am. Directions: Drive along Limuru Road to Ruaka, take a right turn and continue straight along Banana Hill Road. Turn right at Kenchic Bus Stop onto Limuru Girls School Road. Drive past Limuru Girls School and continue for 500m.Turn left into Kiambethu Farm.

Alternatively, take PSV number 116 and alight at Kenchic Bus Stop and take a boda boda up the hill to the farm. Thanks to the management for welcoming the birdwalk.

18^thJune––Muguga Forest. Meet at Kenya Forestry Seed Centre Main Gate at 8:30 am. Directions: Take Waiyaki Way towards Naivasha. After Kikuyu, go past Wida Highway Motel and turn Left on a murram road at Zambezi.  Proceed a short distance to Nderi. The Seed Centre Main Gate is on the right after Nderi bus stage. Thanks to Muguga CFA for welcoming the birdwalk.

Alternatively, take PSV number 131 at Khoja stage. Alight at Nderi bus stage and walk to the gate.

25^thJune–Paradise Lost. Meet at Paradise Lost Main Gate at 8:30 am. Directions: Take Kiambu Road. Turn Left at Paradise Lost junction in Thindigua after Runda Greens before Quick Mart Supermarket. Turn right at Kencom Apartments just after Kasarini Primary School. It’s about 500m to the main gate. Thanks to the management for welcoming the birdwalk.

Thursday Birdwalks in Malindi

5^thJune–Mtondia. Meet at 3.00 pm at Mtondia Highway Trinity School Main Gate. Directions: Coming from Malindi, drive along the highway towards Kilifi.The school is along the highway after Tezo.

12^thJune–Mida Creek.Meet at 10:00 am at Mida Creek on the Mida Stage/Msikitini side along Mombasa-Malindi highway. Thanks to Mida Creek Conservation Groupfor welcoming the bird walk.

19^thJune – Malindi Marine Park.Meet at 4:00 pm at the Malindi Marine Park gate.

26^thJune- Mtangani.Meet at 4:00 pm at Malindi Museum near the Nature Kenya Membership Office.
