The Ol Doinyo Orok Mountain also called Namanga Hills is situated approximately 170km from Nairobi in southern Kenya in Namanga town.It is one of the few remaining forest patches in Kenya that contains a large variety of plants, herbs and also several animal species.
In the mountain valleys there are natural water catchments created by the high altitude rains and the high humid climate. The mountain has a stretched triangular shape, almost like an arrow pointing north and one of the highest peaks is 2548 m.
Hiking up the hill can take between 4 to 6 hours.
On that day, we shall explore the lush green nature trails of the Ol Doinyo Orok Mountain, enjoy a large variety of migratory and endemic birds in the area.
At some places higher up, the trail opens up into clearings from where views of Mt Longido and Mt Kilimanjaro are sights to behold. You may also get lucky and spot some of the local game like, various antelope species, dik dik and monkeys.
The mountain is so picturesque and we will get a splendid opportunity to take memorable photos.
