Insect Committee

Insects make up the bulk of animal diversity and play enormously important roles in the environment. Yet they are often neglected and their conservation given little attention

Aims of the committee

Promote interest in insects
Create awareness of the importance of insects in the ecosystem
Promote insect conservation

Activities

Organises lectures
Leads field outings into the field to study insect species and the niches they occupy
Writes popular and scientific articles on insect issues
Is setting up a permanent live Insect Exhibit in the Nairobi Museums' Snake Park
