| A1
Globally-threatened species. The site regularly holds significant
numbers of a globally threatened species, or other species of global
conservation concern.
A2
Restricted-range species. The site holds a significant component
of a group of species which have a restricted breeding range, of
less than 50,000 km sq. The distributions of such species define
Endemic Bird Areas (EBAs).
A3
Biome-restricted assemblages. The site holds a significant component
of the group of species whose distributions are largely or wholly
confined to one biome.
A4
Congregations. The site holds, on a regular basis, at least I %
of a biogeographic population of a congregatory waterbird species;
or at least 1% of the global population of a congregatory seabird
or terrestrial species; or at least 20,000 waterbirds or 10,000
pairs of seabirds of one or more species; or exceeds thresholds
set for migratory species at bottleneck sites. |
